Ecole Poly3D - Tahiti

Poly3D is a modern school intiated by the Commercial Chamber of French Polynesia in 2015.

Set in a wonderful location (TAHITI ),  our team works to develop and improve the technical and personnal skills of our students  so they become recognized professionals in video game conception, animation or app conception.

It's an opprtunity for young south polynesian to fulfill their ambitions and reveal their talents in a 3-year degree program.

Our students acquire knowledge in 3 main areas: technical, practical and personnal.

• The Technical knowledge
  Most projects are done using common tools in the industry. The students acquire skills of using on well-known software and technologies such as Photoshop, Maya 3D, Unreal Engine 4, C++, ... 

• Practical experience
  Our team of experienced coaches bring the tools, methods and tips to students in order to deliver professionnal-level creations. Going through all stages of the production, i.e. storyboard, modeling, programming, team organization and more, our students learn how to deal properly and quickly with a specific project.

• Personnal Skills
  Wether you create a video game or an animation, you need to be more than a good technician if you want to stand out. Several projects are thus aimed specificially at developing the student's creativity, leadership, communication abilities, and curiosity.

Between a school and a studio !

Poly3D sets an immersive and realistic environment for video game development or animation production. Academic courses are replaced by short master classes inside practical challenges and workshops where the students have to carry out a project whith respect to the specifications, delay and level of quality required.

The challenges are defined, structured, calibrated so the students  develop several skills during the various stages of the production. the coach works simutaneously as a product owner and a professional senior expert. the duration of the challenges varies between 3 and 12 weeks depending on the desired courses of study and production quality.

The workshops are shorter (never more than 3 weeks) and aim at introducing tools and methods to the students, transfering practical experience from the coaches in specific areas: 3D modeling, texturing, rigging, skinning, animation, programming, opimization ...

TEASER

• Challenge of 3 weeks ( 15 effective days)
• Study period: 1st year, 1st quarter
• Goal: Produce a short film mixing 2D computer graphics, transition effects and video production technics, Used as an introduction cinematic for a video game based on the polynesian culture.

MOBILE GAME DEVELOPPMENT

• Challenge of 13 weeks ( 65 effective days)
• Study period: 2st year, 3rd quarter
• Goal:  Developpment of a party game set in polynesian culture and environment, featuring five mini-games, for mobil devices.
• Team: 20 students
